What is the AI Text Summarizer?

TextCharm's Text Summarizer reads any article, report, research paper, or document and condenses it into a clear, accurate summary — without losing the key information. Choose between bullet points for quick scanning, an executive summary for professional contexts, or a single paragraph for sharing.

Unlike basic summarizers that just shorten the first few sentences, TextCharm reads the full text, identifies the most important content, and structures the output around it — weighted toward your chosen focus or angle if you provide one.

  • Three output formats: key bullet points, executive summary, one-paragraph overview
  • Three lengths: Brief, Standard, or Detailed — each with defined scope
  • Optional focus angle — highlight financial data, technical details, action items, and more
  • Accurate: only summarizes what is in the text — no fabricated details
  • Generate all three formats at once with a single click

How it works

From long text to clear summary in three steps.

1

Paste your text

Paste any text up to 5,000 words — an article, report, research paper, meeting transcript, legal document, or anything else that needs condensing.

2

Choose your format and length

Select whether you want bullet points, an executive summary, a one-paragraph overview, or all three. Choose Brief, Standard, or Detailed. Optionally add a focus area to weight the summary toward specific content.

3

Copy and use

Read, share, or export your summary as TXT or DOCX. The output is ready to paste into emails, reports, Slack, Notion, or wherever you need it.

Three formats — one for every context

Different situations call for different summary styles. Choose the one that fits, or generate all three at once.

Key Bullet Points
Fast to scan

The most important facts, arguments, findings, or action items as a clean bulleted list. Each bullet is one distinct idea — sorted by importance, not by reading order. Ideal for meeting notes, research reviews, and quick briefings.

  • Brief: 3–5 bullets
  • Standard: 6–9 bullets
  • Detailed: 10–14 bullets
Executive Summary
Professional contexts

A structured, flowing prose summary covering what was examined, the key findings or conclusions, and implications or recommendations where present. Formal tone, third-person voice. Ideal for reports, proposals, and board materials.

  • Brief: 1 paragraph
  • Standard: 2 paragraphs
  • Detailed: 3–4 paragraphs
One-Paragraph Overview
Shareable anywhere

A single, self-contained paragraph that captures the essential meaning of the full text. Readable in isolation — anyone who hasn't seen the original understands the core idea. Ideal for emails, Slack messages, social posts, and newsletters.

  • Brief: 2–3 sentences
  • Standard: 4–5 sentences
  • Detailed: 6–8 sentences

A summarizer that actually reads the whole text

Built for students, professionals, researchers, and anyone who reads more than they have time for.

Factually Accurate

The AI only summarizes information present in your text — it never adds background knowledge, fills gaps, or fabricates details. Numbers, dates, and proper nouns are preserved exactly.

Focused Summarization

Add a focus angle — financial highlights, technical details, key decisions, action items — and the summary will weight toward that aspect, even if it appears late in the document.

All Three Formats at Once

Select "All three formats" to generate bullet points, executive summary, and one-paragraph overview in a single generation — useful when you need to share the same content in different contexts.

Long Document Support

Handles inputs up to 5,000 words — long enough for research papers, annual reports, and multi-page articles. Credits scale with input length, so short texts cost less.

Multilingual Output

Summarize text in any of 27 supported languages — or summarize a foreign-language document in English. Useful for research, international reports, and multilingual teams.

TXT & DOCX Export

Download your summary as a plain text file or a Word document. Paste it into Notion, email it, attach it to a report, or share it with your team.

Who uses the Text Summarizer?

Anyone who has too much to read and too little time to read it.

Students & Researchers

Summarize research papers, academic articles, and study materials quickly. Extract the key findings and arguments without reading every word of a 30-page paper.

Business Professionals

Turn long reports, market analyses, and meeting transcripts into executive summaries and action-item lists you can act on immediately.

Writers & Journalists

Digest source material and background research fast. Summarize interviews, white papers, and lengthy documents to extract the quotes and facts you actually need.

Teams & Knowledge Workers

Share long documents as concise bullet-point briefings. Keep your team informed without expecting everyone to read the full report.

Frequently asked questions

The summarizer only uses information present in the text you provide — it does not add background knowledge, make inferences beyond what the text supports, or fabricate details. Numbers, dates, statistics, and proper nouns are preserved exactly as they appear in the original. For high-stakes documents (legal, medical, financial), always review the summary against the source before using it.

The tool accepts input up to 5,000 words (approximately 30,000 characters). This covers most articles, reports, research papers, and chapter-length documents. For very long documents, consider splitting them into sections and summarizing each one, then combining the summaries.

The focus field tells the AI what aspect of the content matters most to you. For example, if you're reading an earnings report and only care about guidance, enter "forward guidance and outlook." The summary will prioritize that content even if it appears briefly in the original. If you leave the field blank, the AI summarizes based on overall importance.

Yes. Paste text in any supported language and select that language in the language setting. You can also summarize a document in one language and receive the output in another — for example, paste a French report and generate an English summary — by selecting your output language in the settings.

Credits scale with the length of your input text: up to 500 words costs 2 credits, up to 2,000 words costs 3 credits, and up to 5,000 words costs 5 credits. Selecting "All three formats" does not cost extra — it uses the same credit as a single format at that input length.
